Why Do People Reject the Bible?

Be very sure of this – people never reject the Bible because they cannot understand it. They understand it too well; they understand that it condemns their own behavior; they understand that it witnesses against their own sins, and summons them to judgment. They try to believe it is false and useless, because they don’t like to believe it is true. ~ J.C. Ryle

Very factual quote. People who reject the Bible want to live an uncontrolled life and give in to carnal pleasures and would like to believe they will get away with it.

Best wishes,
Joseph

First - Joseph - you're are incorrect. You apparently live in a pretty, little fantasy world where you're always right just because you say you're right. Too bad nobody taught you how to think critically. Second - I reject the Bible because I understand it is a work of fiction. I'm not saying there aren't some very good lessons in there, but there are some horrible, wicked lessons in there too. I reject the Bible because it is all about an imaginary person, filled with a lot of imaginary people and events and has no bearing on an honest, caring, loving, good, worth while life.

Joseph - you might need to go see a therapist.

So true.

My comment to Atheist Citizen.
The bible is proved by the Dead Sea Scrolls.
It is proved in the date..
B.C. or A.D.
Thirdly, what about all of the out-of -the - body experiences??

Now if I am wrong in believing, I loose nothing at my time of death, whereas if you are wrong in what you believe, you loose everything..
