This blog is called Dead Theologians because I prefer to read the works of Luther, Calvin, Spurgeon, Edwards, Whitefield and the like rather than 99% of today's wasted ink on paper.
The content on this page is my honest attempt to go over things that pertain to Christianity and its mouthpiece, the church.
I also plan to write about many other topics that relate to my life as a Christian. My goal is to comment throughout the week on one subject while changing subjects every week or so.

What is Man's Greated Need?
What is man's greatest need? When I say man I mean all of humanity. What is it that he needs most? Some say it is hope. Others say it is love, food or purpose. What do you think?
I think all the comments are good thoughts but this question can be summed up in one word "righteousness." Not self righteousness, but the the righteousness that can only come from a Holy God. Phillipians 3
Thinking about what you said about man first needing forgiveness before righteousness, I need to restate my understanding of biblical priorities. I don't want to downplay forgiveness...it is obvious depraved men need it. From understanding of the God's word, faith and repentance are granted by God to those He has ordained for salvation. When a man repents and beleives the gospel then Forgiveness and justification (Christ's righteosuness) are given as a free gift. So, I beleive the greatest need of man who is dead in sin and unable to beleive without God's enabling grace is faith and repentance in our Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks for the question brother! God bless!

Wade,
Thanks for the comment.
Wouldn't you say that man needs forgiveness first before he acquires the righteousness of Christ?
